You Deserve Better Than One-Size-Fits-All Care

Too many active individuals struggle with physical therapy that doesn't address their real needs or understand their goals.

Rushed, Shared-Attention Sessions

You're juggling between assistants and therapists in crowded clinics, never getting the focused attention your injury deserves.

Symptom Management, Not Solutions

Generic stretches and exercises treat the pain temporarily, but you're stuck in a cycle because the root cause was never addressed.

Your Sport Doesn't Matter

Cookie-cutter protocols ignore what your body actually needs to return to CrossFit, running, hockey, or the activities you love.

"Highly recommend Dr. Retzer! He has been a wonderful asset to us with our son in strengthening him for hockey. He is very thorough, takes the time to explain things in a way you understand, and genuinely cares for his patients. He is easy to schedule with and get ahold of, and follows up with you!"
- Britta A.
"I had a nasty fall on some ice that really damaged my rotator cuff. Jake got back to me very quickly to set up an appointment. He narrowed down the issue, developed a game plan, and taught me step by step how to start moving my shoulder again and most efficiently recover. Jake is extremely kind and professional."

Your Questions Answered

Everything you need to know about getting started.

1. Do you accept insurance?

Unbound Physical Therapy operates on a hybrid cash-based model. This allows us to provide hour-long, one-on-one sessions focused entirely on your needs rather than insurance limitations. We can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Contact us to discuss your specific situation and payment options.

2. What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first session is a full hour with Dr. Retzer. We'll conduct a comprehensive movement assessment, discuss your injury history and goals, and begin hands-on treatment the same day. You'll leave with a clear understanding of your condition, a personalized treatment plan, and exercises you can start immediately. Wear comfortable athletic clothing you can move in.

3. How is your approach different from traditional physical therapy?

We focus on fixing the root cause of your pain, not just managing symptoms. You'll receive one-on-one attention from a Doctor of Physical Therapy for the full hour—no assistants or shared time. We use evidence-based manual therapy, dry needling, movement analysis, and performance training tailored to your sport or activity. Our goal is to help you eventually not need ongoing services.

4. Do you treat concussions?

Yes. Dr. Retzer specializes in concussion management and vestibular therapy. We offer baseline concussion testing, post-concussion rehabilitation, vestibular balance assessment, and return-to-sport protocols. Our approach helps athletes safely navigate recovery and return to activity with confidence.

5. Can I continue training while in physical therapy?

Absolutely. We specialize in keeping you active throughout the rehabilitation process. Dr. Retzer will modify your training routine so you can continue building fitness while your body heals. Whether you're a CrossFitter, runner, hockey player, or outdoor enthusiast, we'll create a plan that works with your goals.
