Sound Familiar? You Deserve Better Than This.

Most physical therapy mills rush you in and out, hand you a sheet of exercises, and let an aide run the session. If that sounds familiar, you already know it doesn't work.

You're Seeing a Different Person Every Visit

You repeat your story to a new aide or assistant each time — and your treatment plan feels like it belongs to someone else. Nothing gets better because nobody truly knows your case.

You're Told to Rest and Come Back in Two Weeks

Ice it. Rest it. Stretch it. You've heard it all before. Generic advice keeps you sidelined, frustrated, and further from the sport or activity that defines your life.

Your Pain Keeps Coming Back

You finish a round of PT, feel okay for a month, and then it flares up again. Without treating the root cause, you're stuck in a cycle of short-term relief and long-term frustration.

Step 1: Unbind — Address the Issue

We start with a thorough movement assessment and hands-on evaluation to identify the root cause of your pain or limitation — not just the symptom. Manual therapy, dry needling, and targeted interventions begin working from session one.

Step 2: Uplift — Restore Functional Movement

Using skilled manual therapy, exercise prescription, and movement analysis, we restore your mobility, strength, and neuromuscular control — so the fix holds long after you leave the clinic.

Step 3: Upgrade — Build Performance

Once you're moving well and pain-free, we don't stop there. Strength and conditioning, sport-specific training, and injury-prevention programming take you beyond recovery and into your best performance yet.

Questions? We've Got Answers.

Everything you need to know before your first visit to our Bismarck physical therapy clinic — no surprises, just clarity.

Do I need a doctor's referral to start physical therapy?

No. North Dakota is a direct-access state, which means you can start orthopedic physical therapy in Bismarck without a physician referral. Just call or book online and we'll get you in.

Do you accept insurance?

We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota and Sanford Health. We also operate on a hybrid cash-pay model for patients who prefer care that isn't dictated by insurance timelines. FSA and HSA payments are accepted.

How long are sessions, and will I always see Dr. Retzer?

Every session is a full 60 minutes, one-on-one with Dr. Jacob Retzer. There are no aides, no assistants, and no hand-offs — ever. Your time is protected and focused entirely on you.

Can I keep training while I'm in physical therapy?

That is one of our core commitments. We modify your training program so you stay active in your sport or fitness routine throughout the rehab process. Rest-and-wait is not a strategy we use.

What is the Unbound Way?

The Unbound Way is our 3-step care framework: Unbind (identify and address the root cause), Uplift (restore functional movement and strength), and Upgrade (build performance beyond your pre-injury baseline). It's designed to make sure you never have to come back for the same problem.
